Your GMRS call sign

When you register with the FCC for a GMRS license, you will be assigned a unique call sign. We require all members to use their full, FCC-assigned call sign on every repeater within the North Range GMRS Group network. This ensures clear identification and adherence to GMRS regulations, fostering a well-organized and responsible radio communication environment for everyone.

Understanding GMRS frequencies

All GMRS radios are designed to operate on a set of 22 specific channels. These channels are shared among all GMRS users making them ideal for short-range, two-way communication within groups or families. There are 8 interstitial channels that are lower power and 15 regular channels. The North Range GMRS Group utilizes these frequencies to ensure seamless communication among our members. Adhering to these designated frequencies helps maintain clear and organized radio traffic for everyone in our network. Each channel is assigned a number, from 1 to 22. Some of these channels also support repeaters, which extend the range of your radio. You can find more detailed information about each frequency and its common uses in our advanced guides. in addition to this for a travel channel we use GMRS 19 you still have to you use your call sign. 

Radio Etiquette and rules of communication

To ensure a respectful and effective communication environment for all members, please adhere to the following guidelines: no foul language, respect all users, avoid interrupting ongoing conversations, and keep transmissions concise and relevant. By following these simple rules, we can maintain a friendly and efficient network for everyone. If an emergency comes up you need to announce BREAK and you will be given the green light to go with your traffic then continue with what you need to say ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WAY COMMUNACTIONS!
